The story behind the story

It all started about 2 years ago. I was at a party and my cousin gave me a goodie bag and inside that goodie bag was an alien and I loved him so much. throughout the party kids were playing with their own little aliens. By the end of the party, kids were starting to leave and I was about to head out when I saw on the floor another alien. he was ownerless. I went from being the owner of one alien to owning two. I was so happy that day. My brother also got an alien so on the car ride home Sam, Justin, and Hugo were born. Then I was bored and drew Sam and Justin and soon my first two characters came to life. We went over to my other cousin's house and he too had an alien and told me he didn't want it so I told him I would gladly take it out of his hands. He said yes and that is were Ian came to be. A few weeks later my brother was playing with Hugo, his alien, and I looked at it and it was starting to break on the arm and neck. So, I decided to pretend to be a doctor and performed surgery. Hugo came out of the surgery with one less arm and stitches on his neck. I told my brother to be careful with him and not break him any further but he just gave me Hugo and told me to take care of him. Then back at my cousin's house, I redrew Sam and Justin and I even drew Hugo and Ian. And from there it just kept going and the ideas kept coming. So I decided to put it on paper. The name came from my favorite drink and I choose the quote because to me that quote is a perfect description of what this series is about. I've fallen in love with these characters and this series and I become further in love with it. I hope you feel just as I do once you read these books.
